Government policies for using Information and Communication Technology have been recogniged as a potential enable for national economic and social development and for strengthening competitiveness for Thailand changed the way of working in public and private sectors. Laws and Regulations already issued in Thailand for this change which not only to use as a tool for jurisdiction but also a factor of record management program for each organization.    Computers systems generated electronics records in many formats for using day-by-day of business and technology that generated records are rapidly developed. Although the technology that generated records obsolete, electronics records are still needed to keep as long as they are needed as evidence of organizations, and if they were appraised to be an archives that means organizations and archival institutions have to have a strategic plan to preserve the electronic records to ensure that they are useable and accessible as long as their life span. This paper is focus on the setting up strategy for electronic records management for long –term preservation under archival theory and record management concept of life cycle. The goals of this paper are to examine the broad issues and to provide a type of roadmap to prominent management strategies for electronic records, particularly for the one who are just starting this journey
