Abstract

General Fan, Sie-Hua, who was the leader of R.O.C. Ministry of National Defense Military Band and the deputy director of the band training unit during his lifetime, improved the overall quality of the military band based on the training of military music talents, created a cooperative relationship between the band and school groups in society, and transformed the military band into a professional performance band. His belief in music education and promotion really influenced the development of music at that time. With the passage of time, the connection between military music and society had been relegated to the field of the military with the end of the party-state system era. It was not until the Ministry of National Defense began to take all-out defense as the main axis of policy in recent years that the interaction between the military and the people was restarted. But the intensity was not as good as the music activities that Fan, Sie- Hua devoted himself to at that time. Therefore, this study sorts out the influence of Fan, Sie-Hua as an important hub of military and society music , and constructs the social network of this military music seeder through archive exploration, to reproduce the prosperous years at that time.
